About Trio Niche

“Trio Niche” – Fortepiano, Violin and Cello Trio Niche specializes in historically-informed performance of music from the Classical period. This fortepiano trio was formed by seasoned baroque musicians to bring a historical sensibility to repertoire from the turn of the nineteenth century. The ensemble features a fortepiano that is a modern replica of an 1805 Walther instrument built by Paul McNulte. Tom Marshall, who plays the fortepiano, is joined by violinist Susan Via and cellist Sarah Glosson. The violin, and cello date to the nineteenth century and are played with reproduction “transitional” classical bows by Eitan Hoffer. This trio brings to life the sounds of the salons of Jane Austen’s Bath and Thomas Jefferson’s White House, featuring music by composers such as Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.

The Zelma G. Riven Wonderful Wednesdays Music Series also features:

Francesca Hurst on July 30

Jae Sinnett Trio on August 13

Bagels and Fraylox Klezmer Band on August 20.
